Fly Away Home

Over the weekend I watched this movie called Fly Away Home. I know it sounds like a silly movie, but it really is a great movie. It is about a girl who has to move to America from New Zealand, and she has to stay at her crazy inventor dad's house. She is not happy at all. One morning, she looks out her window, and she sees that someone is tearing down the forest by her house! After the destruction she goes into the mess of trees and she finds a nest of eggs. She found a nest of geese eggs. Amy ( who is the girl ) keeps the eggs and once the eggs hatch she starts taking care of them! There is one little flaw in the plan of keeping them though... geese have to migrate for the winter, and geese can't fly unless their parents teach them! What will happen to the geese? Will they be able to migrate south? Watch the movie to find out!!!!!!!!

Valentines Day

Valentines Day is coming really soon! It is just around the corner! Be prepared to CELEBRATE!!!!! Some of you don't like to make your valentines. Not being crafty is NO excuse. Here are a few easy steps on how to make a nice Valentines Day card.

1. fold a paper any way you want
2. make some hearts
3. paste the hearts on (or draw them if you prefer drawing)
4. maybe do some little designs like squiggles or something
5. Then on the outside, inside, or both sides you could put Happy Valentines Day!

Those are a few steps on how to make a Valentine card! Since Valentines Day is coming really soon, you might want to consider giving someone something. It doesn't have to be fancy, it could just be a card. If you do want to give someone something, here is a list that might help you.

1. give a card to someone
2. give someone chocolate
3. flowers are always a nice way to say Happy Valentines Day!
4. candy
5. you don't have to love a person but you should try to spend some time with friends and family

Those are a few tips on what to give a person on Valentines Day!  Hope you enjoy Valentines Day! Valentines Day is not a mundane occasion so get off your seat and get away from the t.v. and have fun with family and friends!

Mocking Jay

I recently finished this book called Mocking Jay. It is the third and last book in the Hunger Games trilogy. Katniss Everdeen has survived through The Hunger Games and now she got a letter saying that she had to go back and fight again! The only good thing about that is that she can now be with Cinna again. Cinna is her favorite and the most caring and gentle stylist she ever had. Now that Katniss is alert that she will have to fight again, Haymitch decides that they should try to keep Peeta alive because in the last games Peeta did all he could to save Katniss' life so now it is Katniss' turn to try and save Peeta. When Katniss is in the games she is attacked in so many ways by so many things in the arena. Haymitch has told her to make an alliance so she does. She doesn't want to but she has to. She soon realises that they may be better than allies. She realises that they are quite close and she will do anything to protect them. She just doesn't realise that until she lost some allies. Will Katniss be able to make it out of the Hunger Games a second time? You will find out if you read the book!

Catching Fire

Catching Fire is the second book in the Hunger Games series. Katniss Everdeen has won the Hunger Games. After the games, she returns home with her fellow district 12 tribute, Peeta. Since she won the games, she gets a better house and gets to go on a victory tour. After the victory tour, she goes home. Then she gets the message that she has to go back in the arena for the quarter quell with other victors from the past! She has to survive the harsh atmosphere of the games a second time in a row! While she is getting prepared to go in the arena again, she has been hearing rumors about a district 13 and there being rebels trying to over-throw the capitol. She also learns that she has a choice to be the rebels Mockingjay. Will Katniss be able to find district 13? Will Katniss be the rebels'  Mockingjay? Will Katniss survive the Hunger Games a second time in a row? These questions will all be answered if you read this book!!!

Bananagrams

Hi! This is Popcorn and I have a very fun game for you! It is called Bananagrams. Bananagrams is a little game that you play by making your own crossword puzzle. You have 144 tiles and you place them all face down to start. Then,one player says "Split"! After that person says "split", you start. You can make words that read left or right or top to bottom. Each player may rearrange their words as many times as they want. You DO NOT take turns, you play independently, but you play at the same time, and you do not have a time limit. When you or another player has no letters left, that player says, "PEEL",and then they take a tile from the face down pile. If they say "PEEL" all the other players must also take a tile from the bunch and add it to their pile of letters. At any time in the game and as often as desired,a player may say "DUMP". When you dump or someone else dumps, you may put back a hard to use letter, but you have to take three tiles in return and the person who says"DUMP" is the only one to take three letters.The game continues until there are fewer tiles in the pile than there are players. The first player with no remaining letter shouts"BANANAS"!!!!!!! and then is the winner of that game. Now the other players can check for misspelled or incorrect words, and proper nouns are not acceptable. Feel free to use a dictionary, (only for the use of checking). If you find any incorrect or misspelled words that player become the "Rotten Banana" and then that player is out of that game. If that happens the other players may continue.  That is how you play Bananagrams. Oh, and this is a great game for family game night, and it is also very educational. (Teachers you will want to buy this for your students!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!) That is the game of Bananagrams.=)  :)

Wisconsin

As many of you know I visited Wisconsin over the weekend! You also wanted me to tell you about what Wisconsin is like and why I keep going to Wisconsin. Well first of all, I keep visiting Wisconsin because my brother goes to St.Norbert College which is in Wisconsin.  We have always gone to my sister's concerts so now its my brother's turn for us to go to all of his concerts (my sister graduated college so my family doesn't go to her concerts anymore). Wisconsin is very beautiful and for a lot of you it may be cold but for me it is perfect weather!  (I'm never cold!) The geography is very nice. Wisconsin and it's geography is gently rolling with a lot of farm land, and the sunset is the most beautiful sunset you will ever see! There are a lot of cheese stores, so if you like cheese, I suggest you go to a place called Mars Cheese Castle. It is near Racine just off of Interstate 94 and it looks like a castle. At Mars Cheese Castle you can get mugs, key chains, cheese (of course) and stuffed animals + more!

Favorite Things For Thanksgiving

Everyone loves Thanksgiving! For you people who like Thanksgiving as much as I do this post is dedicated for you! Here are the things a lot of people love about Thanksgiving.

1. the turkey! ( I mean who doesn't like Thanksgiving turkey!?!?!)
2. being with family or friends
3. the games
4. dinner
5. everything else you can think of!
